We are planning at least two litters for 2012, one with Mochaccina, and one with Bellaccino. Cina's pedigree and the stud Casino Royale's pedigree are pictured below. (Bella is Cina's sister/littermate so
her pedigree is identical except her name). Cina was bred with Casino Royale (Daniel), and we are expecting puppies at the end of March. They will be ready to go to their new homes in June.
We are hoping for a litter with Bella in the Fall.
Seven puppies are already pre-sold (deposits collected), and we expect all litters to go quick. We are not accepting any more deposits for Cina's litter until after they are born. If you are interested in a puppy, we will put your name on a waiting list. Once the puppies are born and chosen and we know how many are available, we will contact people on the waiting list in the order they were added.
We do not ship puppies and prefer to place them locally. We need to meet all potential families before accepting a deposit. If you are from another state, you will need to fly home with your puppy, and we
need to meet you first. Puppies are chosen by new owners in the order deposits come in (e.g. 1st deposit gets first choice).
A fully refundable $500 deposit will reserve your puppy. We must meet with all potential family members first, so please don't send a deposit until we meet. If you want to be on the interest list for future puppies or make an
appointment to meet us, please email us.
Black males cost $1100; chocolate males and black females are $1600; and chocolate females are $2100. Puppies are sold on a limited contract (may be registered with the AKC as pets, not for breeding or showing). You can still participate and compete in Agility with poodles on a Limited Contract. For more info, see the bottom of the Contact page. We strongly encourage neutering (for boys) and spaying (for girls). Boys are much less apt to mark (and hump) when neutered, and you won't have to worry about your female coming into heat and bleeding all over your house (or worse yet, becoming pregnant) when spayed. Raising healthy, quality puppies takes a lot of time and effort and is a huge responsibility.
You don't have to name your puppy a coffee-related name (though we love it when you do), and yes, of course you can use the names Espresso, Mocha, Biscotti, Cappuccino, Bellaccino, Cinnamon Dolce or any of the
names other puppy owners have used. You may also use the Angle Lake extension on your AKC name if you choose (e.g. Lady Mocha of Angle Lake).
Val works out of the home and is here with the poodles to ensure each puppy receives all the attention (loving and training) they deserve while they are with us. And Bob spends a lot of his time with the poodles when he gets home from work. Our poodles all adore him and follow him around when he's home (maybe because he gives them so many dog treats). Our poodles live in our home as part of our family. All of our puppies are cuddled and played with by a family who loves poodles, and will make fantastic companions and pets. They are introduced to children, a cat and other dogs at an early age so they will be playful and become good family members. We try to plan for fair weather litters so we can begin outdoor potty training with the puppies.
We take care of the tails, dew claws and the first set of shots. New owners must schedule a wellness check-up and the second set of shots within two weeks after taking their puppy home. We recommend you schedule this well in advance of picking up your puppy. Future owners who have placed a deposit may visit the puppies after they are two weeks old (when their eyes are open), and we'll even take a picture of you with your puppy. Additional visits are fine, even encouraged, so you can begin bonding with your new puppy. We try to keep most Saturdays open for puppy visits when possible. You may also schedule play visits with our poodles to help your family become acquainted with poodles. Many of our poodle families have a member with severe dog allergies (like Val did) who were drawn to the poodle breed because they do not shed. Our poodles are very loving with very different personalities (just like people), but will give a pretty good idea of what life with a poodle looks like.
There are plenty of places where you can purchase a puppy and never talk to the breeder again. We prefer to place our poodles in homes that will keep in touch. We appreciate emails and love getting pictures of our puppies. Seattle Poodles is now on Facebook and has a blog you'll want to check out. We offer "puppy sitting" to our poodle puppy families (schedules permitting of course). Being close to the airport makes it convenient too.
We held our fourth annual puppy reunion on October 1, 2011. We'll announce the date for the 2012 reunion when we have it (this summer). Check out the reunions page to see photos from the reunions we've hosted here. Because we get to know all of the families that have adopted our puppies, it does become sort of a family/social relationship, and we're thrilled that so many of the families of our pups have become friends and puppy-sit for one another too. Many tell me they visit this website (as well as our Facebook page and blog) to see the latest news on our poodles, so please keep in touch. And send pictures! It makes our day.
